Fleur East is set to marry her beau of nine years, Marcel Badiane-Robin.
Fleur East has announced she is engaged to long-term boyfriend Marcel Badiane-Robin.
The singer took to Instagram to share the news with fans, by uploading a photo of them posing for a Hello! magazine photoshoot with Fleur's vibrant yellow diamond engagement ring on display.
Explaining that Marcel decided to pop the question during a recent trip to Japan, Fleur informed fans: 'I've literally just landed back in the UK from Japan and I can't believe that I'm engaged to be a WIFE!!'
'My boyfriend proposed tome while we were in Tokyo. What a trip to remember!'
She continued: 'You can read all about my surprise engagement shoot exclusively in @hellomag on sale tomorrow! And you can all meet the man that I somehow convinced to want to spend the rest of his life with me! So happy to share this news'
The happy couple were inundated with warm messages of congratulations from fans, with one user writing: 'Amazing amazing amazing news!!! congrats you fabulous pair xxx'
Another fan commented: 'Congratulations to you both. What a beautiful looking couple x'
In an exclusive chat with Hello!, Fleur recalled exactly how her fashion designer beau got down on one knee in their Tokyo hotel room to present her with the ring: 'How Marcel did everything was just wonderful. We're in a really traditional Japanese hotel and there were petals on the bed and champagne - when we first got here I was like, 'Oh my goodness, this hotel goes above and beyond!''
She continued: 'Then I turned around and he was there, with the ring. He said: 'Fleur East, will you be my wife?'
The couple, who have been together for nine years, first met in 2010 whilst both working in a nightclub. Fleur shot to fame after appearing on The X Factor in 2014 and also took part in I'm a Celebrity last year. Marcel is a fashion designer who has previously worked with the likes of Rita Ora and Jason Derulo.
Gushing about the news of their engagement, Fleur told Hello!: 'I couldn't believe it. The ring is so beautiful and yellow is my favourite colour. Me and Marcel have been together for nine years so we've spoken about marriage a lot, and he knew exactly what I wanted. It's perfect. I cried instantly.'
