Hollyoaks star Jimmy Essex engaged to boyfriend Charles

Former Hollyoaks star Jimmy Essex has announced his engagement to musician boyfriend Charles in a sweet Instagram post.
The actor – who played hairdresser Adam Donovan on the hit Channel 4 soap before being killed off last year – shared the snap of the happy couple kissing on holiday in Sri Lanka.
The picture also showed Jimmy holding a ring box open revealing his unique engagement ring.
He captioned it with the words: ‘So ... this happened’, alongside a diamond ring emoji.
The post attracted more than 19,000 likes and fans were quick to offer the pair their congratulations.
One wrote: ‘@jimmy_essex ahhhh I’m so happy for you ♥ you honestly deserve nothing but the best x’
While another added: ‘Huge congratulations to you both. So bloody happy for you xxx’

Charles, who's surname has not been reported, posted an identical snap of the couple on his Instagram account, this time including two more images of a smiling Jimmy accepting his proposal.
One excited fan wrote: ‘Congrats guys! hope you have a wonderful life together!’
While another added: ‘OMG THIS HAS MADE MY DAY’
He wrote: ‘6 years and counting... He said yes.’
34-year-old Jimmy has been dating Charles since 2013 and the couple has chronicled every stage of their love story via their Instagram accounts.
In 2017 Jimmy marked the couple's four-year anniversary by sharing a picture captioned with the words: 'Thank you for putting up with me, 4 years!! You must be mental! I love you.@charlesmusic_'
