Idris Elba has tied the knot with Sabrina Dhowre in a secret ceremony in Morocco.
The 46-year-old actor exchanged vows with 29-year-old Canadian model Sabrina at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, on Friday.
The luxury marriage celebrations lasted three days.
While the star did not post any pictures or videos of the ceremony on his social media feeds, British Vogue exclusively covered the wedding extravaganza for their July edition.
Vogue broke the happy news with a photograph of the gorgeous couple on Instagram with the caption: ‘Congratulations to newlyweds #IdrisElba and #SabrinaDhowre who exchanged vows in Morocco on April 26 2019. Celebrations were spread over three days in Marrakesh. See more in the world exclusive in the July 2019 issue of #BritishVogue.’
The three-day celebrations included a Moroccan-themed dinner at the Amanjena Resort, and an all-white party at the Mandarin Oriental on Saturday night.
Fans and friends rushed to congratulate the stunning pair on Twitter.
One said: ‘What a stunning couple💖💖💖👰🏽🤵🏽 Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Elba!!✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨#IdrisElba.’
Another added: ‘She’s so beautiful, Idris Elba is the lucky one 😂😍🔥.’
Some took to social media to express their disappointment that the handsome star is now taken.
One said: “Idris Elba has broken my heart 💔💔”
Another added: 💔💔💔💔💔💔 IDRIS ELBA GOT MARRIED TODAY. SEND ICE CREAM.’
Actress Dawn French jokingly said: ‘Ummmmm.... EXQUEEEZE ME?!?! @idriselba ...How could you..? Is this how I find out I’m dumped..?! Who is THAT in MY dress?!’
Idris popped the question to Sabrina in February last year.
The pair met in 2017 in Canada where he was filming for the movie The Mountain Between Us.
Speaking to People Magazine about their relationship Idris said: ‘Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special.’
Idris has had a rocky love life to date, following two failed marriages. Previously, he was married to Hanne Nirgaard whom he shares daughter Isan, now 17.
He then married Sonya Nicole Hamlin, but the pair divorced after four months.
Idris also shares five-year-old son Winston with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
