Singer Ellie Goulding marries Caspar Jopling in star-studded ceremony

Ellie Goulding has officially tied the knot with Caspar Jopling, a year after the pair announced their engagement.

The singer, 32, and her art dealer fiancé, 27, said ‘I do’ this afternoon in front of their friends and family – and many famous faces.

The Love Like You Do artist looked gorgeous in a beautiful floor-length white gown, and went against tradition by having her three bridesmaids wear white too.

The star arrived at York Minster in a blue Volkswagen camper, and was greeted by a big crowd, according to the BBC. After the religious ceremony, a reception was held at Castle Howard, near Malton.

The happy couple were joined by their nearest and dearest for their big day – including royals Sarah Ferguson, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

Ellie and Caspar’s special day comes a year after the two revealed they were engaged, with an old school entry in the Times.

The engagement announcement read: ‘Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding. The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.’

Before popping the question, Caspar had been dating Ellie for around 18 months.

Just a month before announcing the engagement, Ellie gushed about her beau. Speaking to A List, she said: ‘I am very happy but I do realise you need some darkness to draw on to create the best music. But don’t worry — I’ve got plenty of darkness to draw on. There is enough going on in the world at the moment to get anyone down.’
