CBBC's Greg Jenner reveals miracle baby news after ten years of infertility 'heartache' in tear-inducing post
CBBC star Greg Jenner and his wife have welcomed a baby girl, following 10 years of miscarriages and failed IVF treatments.
In a very honest Twitter update, Greg Jenner told followers about the struggles his wife, who is not publicly known, and himself have faced trying to conceive a child.
His update features a thread detailing the heartache the couple have faced, starting with ‘two years of nothing’ then ‘two miscarriages’.
But the thread has a very happy ending, as Greg shared the first photograph of himself and his daughter, where he looks absolutely thrilled to finally be holding her.
In a heart-warming update, he wrote: ‘And on Thursday night, thanks to my wife’s incredible courage — and the kind support of friends, family & medical staff — and, after 15 years together, and 5 years of pain, we finally held our baby. She’s called Esmé, she has a ridiculous amount of hair, and she’s amazing 🥰’.

Later on in the thread, Greg explains that he wanted to share his experience with others due to a lack of awareness about infertility. He wrote: ‘I’m sharing this story because infertility is an agony often felt in private.

‘People rarely knew how to talk to us. It sometimes made me angry there wasn’t more awareness. But I get why that is because I kept it hidden. I was scared. And I still don’t want to talk about it now.’
Many people took to the comments to congratulate the couple on the birth of baby Esmé. Screenwriter Sarah Phelps wrote: ‘Oh, Greg!! this is absolutely wonderful! Congratulations and welcome to the world, Esme!’
GBBO host and comedian Sue Perkins added: ‘What an absolute beauty. I'm so delighted for you both xxx’.
TV presenter Julia Bradbury opened up in her response, writing: 'Congratulations from another stranger. I've been through some of that, so I know a little of that joy you are feeling holding your baby for the first few days, thinking it would never happen'
Huge congratulations to Greg Jenner and his wife!
