Actress Kym Marsh reveals she was in' floods of tears’ after finding out her 22-year-old daughter Emilie named her first child after her late son, Archie, who sadly died after a premature birth.
The Coronation Street star, became a grandmother on 3rd May after her daughter Emilie Mae Cunliffe gave birth to a baby boy with her boyfriend Mikey Hoszowskyj.
The happy couple revealed exclusively to OK! Magazine that after keeping the baby name a secret, they had surprised Kym with an emotional tribute to her son, who sadly died after a premature birth in February 2009.
Emilie said: 'His full name is Teddy Archie David Hoszowskyj. Archie after my late brother, and David after my brother, dad and grandfather.
'When I found out I was having a boy I knew I wanted the name Archie to feature, but I wanted it to be a surprise for Mum.
'After he was born, we bought Mum a keyring with a picture of Teddy in it and engraved it with the message: ‘Dear Loli, thank you for everything. Love, Teddy Archie David Hoszowskyj.’
The 43-year-old soap star said in response: ‘When I found out his name, I burst into floods of tears.
‘But now Archie lives on in Teddy’s name. Having a baby boy in the house with Archie’s name as part of his means the world to me.’
After the birth of Teddy, Kym shared an adorable post to Instagram holding the newborn’s hand in hers.
She captioned the touching picture: ‘Last night was a night I will never forget. I became a “Loli” for the first time!!! My beautiful daughter was an absolute warrior and her partner and I were the best birthing team we could be!!! I was so honoured to have been a part of bringing him into the world. My beautiful grandson, I love you I will always love you and I promise to help guide you through life as best I can. Welcome to the world “Baby Hoz” #name to follow 💙💙.’
Kym is mum to Emilie, 23-year-old David, seven-year-old Pollie and son Archie, who died after being born 18 weeks premature in February 2009.
Kym has announced she is taking a break from her role staring as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street to help out with her new grandmother duties.
