Martin Lewis, This Morning’s resident money saving expert, has revealed he was overcome by emotion on All Star Musicals this weekend.

Martin sang Any Dream Will Do from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the London Palladium for the ITV show – complete with technicolour dreamcoat and shocked viewers with his ‘brilliant’ performance.

‘He was the only one without performance background and he smashed it,’ one Twitter user raved.

But there was only one opinion that really mattered to Martin – and that was his six-year-old daughter Sapphire’s. After he was given a standing ovation by the judges, Martin emotionally revealed: ‘She said, “Dad, I’ll still love you even if you get zero.”’

Before his performance, the TV star admitted he was doing it all for her, saying: ‘This is so not me, but since my little girl likes musicals, she asked me to do it, and I love her.’

‘Priceless… so proud of my hubby @MartinSLewis on #AllStarMusical tonight,’ his wife, former weather presenter Lara Lewington, tweeted. ‘Five stars from me and Sapphire (our 6-yr-old he did it for). Any dream will do.’

‘Should be proud of doing it for his daughter,’ one user replied. ‘He’s an amazing man anyway for all the work he does to help people financially, but he seems like a great husband and father – you have EVERY right to be proud,’ another agreed.

Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank won the one-off show with his performance of From Now On from The Greatest Showman.

Alan Titchmarsh also received a standing ovation, and brought judge Kristin Chenoweth to tears with his interpretation of Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific. ‘You’re wonderful,’ she told him. ‘And thanks because now I need some new eyeliner.’
