Actress Sarah Jayne Dunn has revealed that she's given birth to her first child.
The former soap star, who played Mandy Richardson in Channel 4 show Hollyoaks, confirmed that she and partner Jonathan Smith had welcomed a son.
'Our gorgeous little man arrived safe & well on 7th August 💙👶🏼 We're in love @jonathn_smith,' she wrote to her 11,000 Instagram followers alongside an image of an 'It's a Boy' banner. She has not yet revealed her choice of baby name (opens in new tab).
Sarah, 34, announced the pregnancy back in March, when she shared a picture of herself and her growing bump on her Instagram account, accompanying the snap with a selection of baby-related emojis.
Messages of congratulations soon began pouring in from fans, with one writing, 'Congratulations xx you look fabulous xxx', while another agreed, 'Blooming beautiful clearly suits and agrees with you'.
The bundle of joy is the first child for Sarah and Jonathan, but judging from some of the other pictures she'd been posting at the time, the couple has been taking preparations for the new arrival in their stride.
The tot's mode of travel has already been chosen and upcycled
Five months before their son's birth, the pair had already had their buggy transformed by the Pram Company, with Sarah writing: 'Huge thanks to @thepramparlour for transforming our mucky pram (left) into a sparkly good as new pram (right). Excellent service, I'd highly recommend these guys'.
Sarah, who left Hollyoaks in 2015, also tweeted that she'd be keeping on top of her fitness regime during her pregnancy, crediting the site Fitta Mamma with keeping her motivated with some maternity workout gear.
She also thanked fans for their love and support since the announcement, tweeting, 'Thank you for all your lovely messages. We are super excited to become parents'. 'Ahhh just logged back in to see all of your amazing messages! Thank you'.
Sarah refers to her partner Jonathan as 'the reason every day gets better'
Congratulations to Sarah and Jonathan - we can't wait to see the first pic of your little one!
