'We didn't go out of our way to keep it secret' Katherine Kelly reveals birth of second child

The Coronation Street star gave birth back in October!

Former Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has revealed she gave birth to her second child three months ago, after keeping her pregnancy under wraps.

It seems congratulations are in order for actress Katherine Kelly, but we're a little late! Incredibly the Happy Valley star kept her pregnancy completely private and gave birth three months ago, despite claiming secrecy was never her aim.

The 37 year old is now a mum of two after giving birth to a little girl, who she has named Rose. Katherine already has a beautiful two-year-old daughter called Orla, both of whom she shares with husband Ryan Clark.

She announced the news of her exclusive reveal with Hello! magazine via Twitter, tweeting the link to her interview along with a reference to her role on TV show CLASS, on which she plays a teacher named Miss Quill.

Her tweet read, 'Here she is. Our little Rose 🌹 Miss Quill really was having a baby! 😳 @bbcclass @Patrick_Ness @BBCOne @bbcthree @BBCAMERICA @bbcdoctorwho'

Fans and followers immediately flooded the message with congratulations, with one social media user writing, 'congrats Kelly! Both beautiful girls 🎀🎀' and another adding, 'Aw Kath congratulations !!💗Both of your daughters are such beauties! 😍Cherish every moment xx'

The mum of two told Hello! magazine, 'We didn't go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn't announce the pregnancy so people were not immediately on bump watch.

'So it's been wonderful to have this precious time just for us.

'It is different if you are in something like Corrie, as you can't keep it quiet. It leaks within a second.'

Katherine decided to try a water birth for her second pregnancy, which happened at London's Whittington Hospital on 21st October last year.

Commenting on the labour, which sounds like it went well, the actress said, 'It was a rush to get to the hospital and by the time we were checked in, Rose was born within 1hr and 40 mins!'

Speaking to Hello! about life as a mum of two, Katherine couldn't help but show how in love she is with her two little ones, comparing being with them to having Christmas every day, 'I love my job but I do want to spend as much time as I can with Orla and Rose. To have two healthy children is a blessing.

'The joy that they bring, it is like Christmas every day when our two girls open their eyes each morning and look at us.'

Congratulations to the new family of four!
