Pret a Manger just announced the biggest menu change in its 33-year history
It’s good news if you’re veggie or gluten-free…
Pret a Manger is adding to its menu and it's good news if you’re veggie or gluten-free…
Pret a Manger has announced that it will launch a brand new ‘expanded’ menu from Tuesday 9th April as part of its biggest ever shake-up.
Featuring 20 exciting new products, the new menu is packed with choice for veggies, vegans and flexitarians. And there’s an extra special reason to get excited if you’re gluten-free.
While the classics we know and love will stay put, there are 13 new vegetarian options – of which eight are also vegan.
We can’t wait to try the Asian Style Veggie Box and Roast Mushroom & Smashed Avocado Pot, which both feature Pret’s new sweet roasted chestnut mushrooms.
Cooked for 55 minutes in a sticky tamari, miso and brown sugar marinade, they’re said to lend a delicious ‘umami’ flavour to the new vegan dishes.
But the best news for gluten-free Pret fanatics?

They’re launching a new range of open sandwiches on their very own gluten-free bread.
The bread took nine months to develop and saw the Pret chefs trial 30 different recipes.
The winning recipe combines a special mixture of oat, teff, buckwheat and quinoa flours with millet, red quinoa, sourdough and a dash of treacle. Described by the brand as ‘soft and flavoursome’, it sounds amazing.
If you’re in the market for an open sandwich, you can choose from Smashed Avo, Coconut & Berries and Chicken Ceasar & Smashed Avo. Veggie Pret stores will also stock a Hummus & Roasted Peppers option.
The new menu also includes five colourful salads, four flavour-packed salad pots, two new breakfast birchers, two delicious-sounding desserts (a Lemon & Blueberry Cheesecake and a Mocha Pot made from coconut yoghurt and organic espresso), a Coco-Berry Bircher Smoothie, an Avo & Bacon breakfast Baguette, a Hummus & Chipotle Wrap and a brand new Nut Bar.
And there are two new Chef’s Specials to get your hands on between 9th April and 10th June – the Chicken & Pea Crush Baguette with crumbled feta, fresh basil and mint, and the Bang Bang Veggies Wrap, inspired by Pret’s iconic Bang Bang Chicken Wrap.
Hannah Dolan, Pret’s Head of Food Development, says that the colourful new spring menu, which takes inspiration from all over the world, is down to ‘listening to what our customers want’. Well, we can’t wait to try it.
