  • Make these cheap carrot and hummus pinwheels like our mummy blogger Anneliese, who says: ‘I love bread and could happily eat sandwiches until they come out of my ears, so I will never understand why both my boys turn their noses up in disgust. I suppose sandwiches can become boring to children if served up every single day! After a little experimentation, I struck gold when I presented my bread haters with wraps! They are perfect as they are easy to fill, roll and slice into pinwheels – or “wheels” as my four year old car enthusiast calls them.’


    • 4 tortilla wraps
    • 100g -125g hummus
    • 2 carrots, grated


    • Place your wraps on to a microwaveable plate and warm them in the microwave for a few seconds, each side – or follow the instructions provided on the packet.

    • Grab a table knife and evenly spread some of the hummus over each wrap. Be sure to spread the hummus right to the edge of the wrap.

    • Sprinkle the grated carrot over the hummus; you will need more carrot than you think!

    • Firmly roll up the wrap starting from the side closest to you, until you have created a tight roll.

    • You can now slice your rolled wrap into circles and eat straight away or, if time permits, you may wish to wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight before slicing.
