Crispy Neapolitan slice recipe

  • This fun no-bake recipe is perfect to make with your kids. Unsure of what bits your young ones can do? This fun Neapolitan slice will grab their attention – and tastes good to adults too!


    • 75g unsalted butter
    • 100g white chocolate
    • 50g milk chocolate
    • 3 tbsp golden syrup
    • 5 tsp strawberry milkshake powder
    • 150g Rice Krispies
    • A little pink food colouring
    • You also will need
    • 1lb loaf tin


    • First of all dig out your 1lb loaf tin and line it with a piece of cling film. This will make it really easy to turn out the Neapolitan slice later on.

    • To make the white chocolate and strawberry layers, I make them up together to begin with. Ask your child to weigh 50g of the butter, 2tbsp golden syrup and the all the white chocolate into a large mixing bowl. Keep a keen eye on your child when they are measuring the golden syrup; my child ended up in a sticky mess, I could have stuck him on the wall!!

    • Place the bowl into the microwave on a medium heat for 10 second bursts. Once the mixture has melted together and combined into a smooth mixture it is ready to receive the Rice Krispies.

    • You may wish to help your little one to pour in the Rice Krispies. My little boy was very keen and a lot went on the floor. Whenever we moved our feet there was a loud “CRUNCH”!!

    • Your child can now enjoy mixing the chocolate and Rice Krispies together with a spoon. Try to resist eating the mixture directly from the bowl. It really is very tempting! Check that your child hasn’t given in to temptation – or do they already have chocolate all over their face?!

    • Roughly half of the mixture will now need to be spooned into the loaf tin. Your child can do this but make sure they press the Rice Krispies down into the tin with the back of the spoon. The mixture needs to be packed down firmly so that it will hold its shape.

    • With the remaining mixture, stir in the milkshake powder and a few dots of food colouring. Give it all a good mix. I got in with my hands to be sure of an even pink colour!

    • Your child can now add this pretty pink layer to the tin and press it down firmly. Your tin will be almost full and we still have the milk chocolate layer to add!!

    • Clean out the mixing bowl and weigh in the remaining 25g of butter, 1 tbsp of golden syrup and the milk chocolate. Heat in the microwave until melted, then stir in the last 50g of Rice Krispies. Press this gorgeous chocolaty mixture down on top of the strawberry layer. It will be a tight squeeze but it will just about fit!!

    • Place into the fridge and leave it to firm up for 3 to 4 hours. I know it is a long time, but I promise it will be worth the agonising wait. Once you can finally remove the tin from the fridge it will be ready to slice into perfect pretty slices.
