Most parents spend a lot of time trying to come up with a baby name, and the challenge is even greater if you're expecting more than one new arrival! Here are some golden rules to follow when it comes to picking the best name for your little one.
However, one mum from Australia may have cracked the formula, and followed some golden rules for all six of her gorgeous children.
Chloe Dunstan, who hails from Perth, had three sons and then a set of triplets (two boys and a girl), and chose names for each of her children that work both on their own, and as a set.
Her eldest three sons are named Evan, Otto and Felix, followed by Henry, Rufus and Pearl.
The 23-year-old mum documents the adventures of her brood on her Instagram account Chloe and Beans.
'When naming my babies I just wanted names I really loved; names that were simple. I love older-style names with a modern quirky vibe,' she explained to Essential Baby magazine.
Essential Baby say that Chloe's choices fit together so nicely because they follow certain 'golden rules' of baby naming, including:
- No duplicate first initials (for instance, like Kardashian sisters Khloe, Kourtney, Kim, Kendall and Kylie). This is particularly noticable in such a large family!
- All of the names end in a different sound and none of them rhyme.
- The names have a consistent style - each choice upholds the traditional feel, but crucially, they are not themed (eg. place names, flowers)
Chloe adds that she mostly went for names that were two syllables long, with the exception of daughter Pearl, and opted for five letters or less, so that they 'flowed nicely'. And if she were to have a seventh?
They would most likely be named Daisy, or Ned.
We have to say, we love Chloe's selection of retro baby names (opens in new tab) - they're unique enough to be individual, without the kids having to explain the spelling or meaning every time they meet someone new.
And she's in good company with celebrity baby names (opens in new tab) too - Jack Osbourne and wife Lisa named their first daughter Pearl, while actresses Elizabeth Banks and Gillian Anderson both have a Felix, and both Minnie Driver and Rachel Weisz also have a Henry.
