A royal superfan has taken to Instagram to share Harry and Meghan’s heartwarming reply to their Christmas and New Year wishes – and the photo the royal couple have chosen for their thank you card may surprise you.
Sharing the image user @loopycrown3 – who describes themselves as a ‘devout monarchist and royal commentator’ – captioned it with the words:
‘Lovely reply from TRH the Duke and Duchess of Sussex thanking me for sending my Christmas and New year wishes.’
The tender photo shows the Duchess of Sussex sheltering her husband from the rain addressed as he addressed crowds at the Dubbo community BBQ in Victoria Park during the royal couple’s 2018 tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
The message included in the cards reads: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, thank you for the very kind message you sent for Christmas.
‘This was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses who send their best wishes for Christmas, and for the New Year.’
The post attracted scores of positive comments, with many remarking on how it reveals the close bond shared by the parents-to-be.

Captioning they wrote: ‘Fantastic reply from the Cambridges thanking me for sending my Christmas and New year wishes.’
The official family portrait featuring the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and children Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, eight- months, is a more formal choice than the one above, but it still proved a hit with Instagram users.
It featured the message: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis than your for your very kind Christmas message.
‘Their Royal Highnesses send you their very best wishes for Christmas and for the New Year.’
One wrote: ‘I think it’s wonderful so glad they picked it.’
