EastEnders actress Lacey Turner is pregnant with her first child with husband Matt Kay

‘We’ve dreamed of having a family for so long’

Actress Lacey Turner has announced she is pregnant with her first child with husband Matt Kay after two devastating miscarriages.

EastEnders actress Lacey Turner is pregnant with her first child with husband Matt Kay after suffering two miscarriages.

Lacey is 19 weeks pregnant and has opened up about her impending motherhood in an interview with OK! Magazine.

She said: ‘I can’t wait to nurture our baby – we’ve dreamed of having a family for so long.’

Speaking about her devastating miscarriages, Lacey explained that during this pregnancy she has wanted to check everything is on track and has had several scans to make sure.

She explained: ‘When you’ve lost babies all you care about is the heartbeat - we’ve had about 12 scans.

‘It felt like my whole world had fallen to pieces and there’s nothing you can do apart from try and put it back together. I blamed myself thinking that I’d done something wrong. I’d think, why me? What did I do? But, of course, I hadn’t done anything wrong – it’s all down to chromosomes and luck, really.’

Lacey and Matt didn’t reveal if they are hoping for a little boy or girl but if they wanted to know it would be visible in their scan pictures…

The couple didn’t mention baby names either but Lacey will have her work cut out trying to avoid all of the EastEnders’ characters!

Like may women, Lacey suffered from a lot of morning sickness but she revealed sea sickness bands were a life-saver.

She said: ‘Sea sick bands were my best friend! I’d only take them off to have a bath. When I was wearing them, I’d time it so I’d get up 20 minutes earlier, throw up and then drive to work. I was okay as long as I was eating constantly!’

Congratulations to Lacey and Matt
