  • Eight months after her wedding, the Court Circular has revealed that Princess Eugenie now has an official new title.

Princess Eugenie married Jack at St George’s Chapel, during a beautiful ceremony on October 12th last year.

This was followed by a luncheon hosted by the Queen at Windsor Castle then a reception at the Royal Lodge, owned by her parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The wedding cake was a particularly interesting choice too.

Surprisingly, it’s taken until now for her official new title to be confirmed.

Before her marriage the 29-year-old was known as either ‘Princess Eugenie’ or ‘Princess Eugenie of York’. But will now be referred to as ‘Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank’ during official engagements.

She was seen wearing a jacket with ‘Mrs Brooksbank’ on it the day after the wedding, during a festival-style party, which featured many celebrity guests. The jacket was embroidered in her own handwriting.

Sam Dougal, the tailor who worked on this design shared a post saying he was ‘so honoured’ to have been part of it.

Jack won’t receive a title, and will be simply known as Mr Brooksbank.

The couple had dated for almost seven years before their engagement. Jack proposed to Eugenie in front of a volcano in Nicaragua during sunset. That’s quite the proposal!

The princess admitted she had cried during this moment, saying: ‘The lake was so beautiful. The light was just a special light I had never seen.

‘I actually said this is an incredible moment, and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we have been together seven years.’

Eugenie frequently uploads to her Instagram, sharing lots of sweet snaps of her and Jack. She shared a very elegant photo on her 29th birthday, featuring the couple in formal attire.

In fact, Eugenie is one of the most active royals on Instagram and keeps over 900,000 followers informed on key events in her life. She was a speaker at the OSCE’s 19th Alliance against Trafficking in Persons Conference, where her previous title was photographed, hinting that this new one is a very recent change.
