Fans defend Chrissy Teigen after she's shamed for naked pregnancy photo

The expectant mother caused quite a stir after sharing a shot of herself making dinner without any clothes on

Fans have leapt to Chrissy Teigen's defence after a naked pregnancy photo garnered a negative reaction online.

A few days ago, the model - who is pregnant with her second child with husband John Legend - decided to treat her Instagram followers to a humorous snap of herself baring her bump in all its glory.

'Plz don't shame me I am a strong proud salad making woman just being natural and trying to live my life,' quipped Chrissy.

The shot sees singer John Legend's wife preparing a healthy meal wearing nothing but a sheet around her waist. Chrissy wittily added salad emojis to the picture to protect her modesty.

Despite the expectant mother's request not to have her image trolled, a number of critics couldn't resist airing their views.

'Anything for attention,' commented one, while another added: 'Ridiculous.'

'You could not be a worst role model,' a third unimpressed user of the photo-sharing platform wrote.

Obviously incensed to see that the 32-year-old had received backlash, a number of followers were quick to stick up for their idol.

'Beautiful!! We got your back,' said one. Another kindly complemented Chrissy on her ability to rise above any criticism.

'I just love you. I love how you live your life and don't care what others think, which I'm sure is not easy in your position,' the fan mused.

'Keep doing what makes you happy!!'

While she's yet to reply to the comments herself, Chrissy did feel the need to fire back recently after a seemingly innocent moment captured on camera caused some to question her parenting skills.

'Wish you guys would have told me about the leg thing earlier. They broke. Both of them. And everyone else's in the park broke too just from watching it happen', she retorted after some followers accused of her riding a slide with her daughter in a dangerous way.

'There are so many broken legs here.(Heads up, photos are a one second moment in time, I was lifting her onto my lap).'
