Pregnant Kate Middleton increases her workload as her due date approaches

The Duchess of Cambridge will be welcoming her third child in April

Kate Middleton is only a few weeks away from welcoming her third child, but it doesn't look like she's slowing down before her brood gets bigger.

Kate Middleton will soon become a mother of three, but her royal duties are not taking a back seat just yet.

Kensington Palace announced today on social media that the Duchess has become a patron to another two charities, upping the number of organisations she supports to sixteen.

The new organisations Kate will be devoting her time to are the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and Nursing Now, a global campaign run in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization.

They join the likes of National Portrait Gallery, East Anglia Children's Hospices (EACH) and The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, which has a number of projects - such as the Heads Together campaign (tackling mental health stigma) and the Invictus Games.

'It has been announced that The Duchess of Cambridge will become Patron of the @RCObsGyn and the @NursingNow2020 campaign ahead of her engagements today, where she will learn about and support global health work', the statement posted on the official Kensington Palace Twitter account read.

The news came before Kate stepped out for today's royal engagement at one of her new patronages, the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, where she's learning about the college's training programmes.

Alongside pictures of the expectant mum, Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter: 'The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the @RCObsGyn, is learning about the College's education and training programmes for doctors specialising in obstetrics and gynaecologists.'

But while Kate seems to be busy with her royal duties, she will probably have to slow down in the next few weeks as her due date approaches - especially as she's expected to not hire any more help.

The royal couple, who are already parents to little Prince George and Princess Charlotte, announced back in September that they are expecting their third child.

They later confirmed that the due date for their third child is in April, but it's still unknown if they're expecting a boy or a girl.

As well as another royal baby, the family also have a wedding to look forward in May, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will tie the knot at Windsor Castle.
