  • Peppa Pig? Pah! Dora the Explorer? Do one. Kids these days just don’t know what they’re missing. Thanks to the genius of YouTube, we’ve been able to find clips of all the best old-school kids’ shows which we grew up with and pulled them all together for you in this article.

    Jem and the Holograms

Remember the 1980s hit cartoon of schoolgirl, Jerrica Benton, as the secret lead singer of a glamorous girl band? Well, get ready to get super excited, because Jem and the Holograms is coming to a CINEMA near you.

Here’s the trailer for the all-new, live-action Jem:

Yes, Jem is her name, no one else is the same, Jem is her nameā€¦ If you didn’t once sing along to that and seriously consider painting a pink glittery star on your face, then please, do keep scrolling.

    The Clangers!

And old onto your tin hats, goodtoknowers, because even more amazing news has just reached our pink knitted ears. The Clangers are back too! For the first time in over 40 years, the long-nosed little creatures will be returning for a brand new series. The BBC have released a little teaser clip of them in action, which sees our favourite little pink animals (sorry Peppa) learning about the solar eclipse.

Let’s not forget the original Clangers – Please note the noise they make when they get the teaspoon…

And when Pingu went fishing and encountered that tricksy seal…

The brilliantly catchy Poddington Peas opening titles:

The schreechy tellings-off of Norman Price by his mum Dillis in Fireman Sam: priceless

Noddy and his little yellow car

Thomas the Tank Engine (the old episodes)

Postman Pat. Who knew delivering mail could hold so many obstacles?

The Moomins – anyone else actually think this is quite scary in hindsight?

Oh good old Playdays – roll up and ride on Rosie!

Rosie and Jim, Rosie and Jim…

Who could forget lovely little Brum?

TV Tots – the sac magique!

Old Bear and Friends – oh the sheer cuteness of those fluffy characters!

The village of Trumpton – this one makes us feel hideously old!

    DuckTales – just wow.

Thanks to Bodger and Badger, for encouraging our love of mashed potato since 1989:
