In their first 'formal' pictures together, Meghan and Harry looked relaxed and happy together in the Sunken Garden outside Kensington Palace, with American actress Meghan flashing her gorgeous engagement ring for the cameras.

According to reports, Prince Harry designed the beautiful ring himself - making it even more special for the couple. On the gold band is one stone from Botswana, in Africa, where the couple took a special holiday together earlier this year, and two stones which previously belonged to Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.

Meghan chose a white jacket - fitting for a bride-to-be - for the important occasion, with nude heels, while Harry looked smart in a suit.

Fielding questions from the media while they smiled for pictures, Harry smiled while admitting that he knew Meghan was 'the one' straight away after meeting her.

Following the official photos, Prince Harry and Meghan wrapped their arms around each other as they returned to the Palace - a wonderful gesture of love and support between the newly engaged couple.

After the public announcement of Harry and Meghan's engagement, the royal family shared their reactions to the happy news. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reacted to the news of Prince Harry's engagement via a statement on their official Twitter account saying: 'We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.'

During an official visit in Dorset today, Prince Charles told reporters he was 'thrilled' and 'very happy indeed' for his son Prince Harry and his wife-to-be, Meghan.

The couple are also due to take part in a broadcast interview together later on this evening.
