Nando’s is giving away free bottles of sauce today - but only to people called David
We all love to treat ourselves to a meal out.
And when we head out for a treat lunch or easy dinner, us Brits love nothing more than a good old Nando’s.

And whether you go for a mild Lemon & Herb or a blow-your-head-off Extra Hot, the classic Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce has become a nation favourite.
The restaurant even started selling bottles of their signature sauce and marinade so that fans can attempt their own flame-grilled platters in the comfort of their own homes. Even if it never quite as good…

And now the chicken chain is offering free bottles of the bestselling sauce for customers to pick up – but there’s a catch.
To celebrate today’s Welsh holiday St. David’s Day Nando’s is giving away free bottles of their PERi-PERi sauce in participating branches in Wales.
But they won’t be available to everyone.
The bespoke bottles will be given away to anyone with the name David or Davina.

So while it’s bad news for the rest of the population, anyone who shows up to a participating restaurant today (Friday 1st March) and can show proof that their name is David (or Dafydd, Dewi, Dai, Dafina) or Davina will get a free bottle of Medium PERi-PERi sauce bespoke with their name on it.
Participating restaurants include:
- Cardiff Mermaid Quay
- Cardiff Old Brewery Quarter
- Cardiff St David’s
- Llanelli
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Nantgarw
- Newport Friars Walk
- Newport Retail Park
- Swansea
- Talbot Green
Unfortunately you can’t just walk in and pick one up, as you have to spend £7 first.
But with a main dish and a side or two you’ll easily reach that minimum spend.
