This chocolate (opens in new tab) cobweb tart is so quick and easy to make - a great one to whizz up for a Halloween themed supper. It’s always sure to impress, and with minimal fiddling and fussing thanks to our friend the food processor, we will definitely be adding this recipe to our yearly Halloween (opens in new tab) must make list! If you like, you can use multi coloured marshmallows, but do melt them separately then pull different coloured strings across the cobweb chocolate tart for a more cosmic Halloween look. If you want to get the kids involved, do so after melting the cobwebs. This tart also looks great with a few meringue ‘ghosts’ or chocolate spiders or extra Halloween candy dotted across with sprinkles. We recommend bringing this cobweb chocolate tart to the serving area and slicing it there and then to give everyone a chance to appreciate the full cobweb effect. This tart can also be made in individual tart cases - the filling mixture below will fill 6 – with a separate cobweb design on each tart.
- 1 x all-butter pastry case
- 300ml double cream
- 300g dark chocolate
- 3 marshmallows
- Break the chocolate into small pieces and place into a food processor. Heat the double cream to steaming, pour over the chocolate and blitz until the mixture is smooth and all of the chocolate has melted.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the tart tin and place in the fridge to set for 30mins.
- Place the marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds until just melted. Let this cool slightly before using your thumb and forefinger to pull strings across the top of the chocolate tart, creating the desired spider web effect.
