Get the best flavour out of your chickpeas with this simple recipe - turn them into a stand alone dish or serve them alongside other Spanish-style tapas. These smokey chickepeas serve up to 6 people and only take 7 mins to cook altogether. Each portion contains 99 calories and 6g of fat per portion. Store these chickpeas in a jar.   • 400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 level tsp each smoked paprika and sea salt




  1. Dry the chickpeas on kitchen paper. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the chickpeas and fry them, stirring occasionally, until crispy and browned, for about 4-5 mins.
  2. Drain them on kitchen paper, then transfer to a bowl and season with the paprika and salt, mixing well. Serve warm or cooled.

These will keep for a couple of days in a jar, but are very more-ish!
