The couple tied the knot in Cheshire over the weekend.

Actor Sam Aston married his yoga teacher fiancée at country estate Stock Farm on Sunday after popping the question almost two years ago, in June 2017. The proposal was every bit as dramatic as one of the actor's Corrie storylines: he got down on one knee on stage at his golf club's annual dinner, which was hosted by Coronation Street co-stars Alan Halsall and Andy Whyment.

The groom was spotted greeting guests outside the venue ahead of the ceremony on Sunday, looking slick in a black velvet tuxedo suit with matching bow tie. Many of Sam's co-stars were in attendance, including Alan, Brooke Vincent, Mikey North and Katie McGlynn.

Katie, who plays Sinead Tinker, wore a black and white polka dot dress accessorised with gladiator-style platform sandals. Pregnant Brooke also opted for monochrome spots, showing off her growing bump in a polka dot jumpsuit and matching jacket.

Brooke announced that she was pregnant with her first child last month after worrying that it 'wouldn't happen' for her.

Alan Halsall, who donned a stone coloured suit for the occasion, revealed on Instagram stories that he'd had a 'fresh trim' on Saturday in preparation for the ceremony.

And bride-to-be Briony shared a picture of a wooden ring box engraved with the couple's names and their wedding date, along with the caption 'wedding rings'.

25-year-old Sam previously told OK! magazine that although the couple were still young, he'd always felt old before his time because he had been working since the age of five. 'We've also been together for a long time so it just feels right and I don't feel like I want to wait,' he revealed.

He also admitted that the couple had set aside a weekly 'wedding hour' to discuss their plans in advance of the big day. 'There's so much to plan, so we have "wedding hour" when we put aside one evening a week to discuss it, because otherwise we'd be constantly talking about it,' he confessed.

We're sure it was worth every minute of effort.
