Lucy Pargeter admits she was forced to have her breast implants removed after struggling to breathe properly for 11 years.
Emmerdale actress, Lucy Pargeter, best known for playing Chastity ‘Chas’ Dingle in the ITV soap, reveals she has undergone an operation to remove her implants after suffering from health problems linked to her size DD breast implants.
The 42-year-old TV star, who recently confirmed her split with partner Rudi Coleano after 12-year engagement, described her DD implants as ‘toxic bags’.
Speaking to The Sun, the soap actress said: ‘They are out. I’m as flat as a pancake, I look awful but feel good.
‘When I woke up in recovery, the first thing I did was panic because I could breathe - I could take in a massive breath.
‘I thought they were trying to give me too much oxygen – I panicked. I forgot what it was like to have a full lung of air. I mean, it’s amazing - I can breathe.’
She adds: ‘The surgery went absolutely fine, they were both really encapsulated, so they were both quite deformed. I know that everything is going to be much better, including my symptoms.’
Symptoms experienced from breast implants can include, choking, difficulty breathing, heart palpitations, physical pain and mental health issues. Many of these symptoms Lucy experienced herself.
Lucy explains how she believes her health problems will decrease following the operation.
She hopes her joint pain, anxiety, chest rashes, and pains in chest and armpits will cease.
Lucy will appear in tonight’s episode of Channel 4’s Dispatches, Britain’s Breast Implant Scandal, which investigates women who have had health complications after surgically enhancing their breasts.
The star reveals she has had two lots of breast implant surgery, one at age 21-years old, and a second aged 32. She admits the reason behind her surgically enhanced breasts was an ‘old thing called vanity’.
Lucy is mother to twin girls born in 2017 via IVF treatment after fertility struggles with ex-partner Rudi.
And, the Emmerdale actress was recently awarded Best Actress price at the 2019 British Soap Awards.
Dispatches airs on Channel 4 at 8pm tonight (June 24).
