Parents are getting a jump-start on Christmas shopping with these low prices.

The popular catalogue retailer Argos has started its summer clearance sale and prices will be hard to beat.

With discounts of up to 50 per cent on most popular children’s toys, including Barbie, Lego and Marvel, parents are using it as a chance to get a bit of bargain Christmas shopping in ahead of the crowds and price hikes.

The sale features an array of superhero toys for all the Marvel, DC, Transformers and Star Wars fans. From Thor and Superman figures, to a cannon-blasting Batmobile and a Justice League dressing up set, there’s everything the children will need to get them suited up for the new Ant-Man and Aquaman releases this year. The selection also includes Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman.

And for Minions and Despicable Me fans (because who isn’t one) there are walkie talkies in the shape of minion favourites Dave and Stuart and even a fancy dress costume for kids to dress up as Dave. It comes with gloves, goggles and a sound chip so you can talk like a minion to truly pull off the look.

It’s not just the little ones they have discounts for – there’s also a few classic board games on sale to keep the whole family entertained, including Pointless to make you feel a BBC One regular and Countdown for a classic Vorderman-style evening.

For princess rooms they have a mini dressing table and stool, designed to use with dolls, and a Belle gown and tiara to dress up as everyone’s favourite Disney Princess.

And they’ve not forgotten about the tech-enthusiasts. There are plenty of gadgets to keep active kids on the go including an electric skateboard, Power Rangers scooter, a remote control Star Wars BB-8, Spiderman roller blades and even a lightsaber that fires missiles.

With all these treats bought ahead of the festive season, you’ll be the most-organised mum on the playground.
