Dozens of baby names from the nineties are starting to go extinct.
Back when you were in school there were always names that came up a few times on the register.
And while the likes of Lucy, Chloe and Emily (that ‘e’ ending sure was a trend) still remain up there as some of the most popular baby names (opens in new tab), there are a good number of nineties monikers that are on the decline.
According to Cosmopolitan UK, 28 common names that were going around in the nineties have since plummeted.

To come to their conclusions, they looked at detailed government data on baby names in England and Wales as far back as 1996, and compared the numbers to names given to babies who were born in 2017.
The findings showed that 28 baby names (opens in new tab) which were common back in the late nineties are now at risk of becoming extinct.
