Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reveal the 'miracle' at their wedding they thought would not happen

Harry and Meghan wedding day

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot over a year ago, and now they’ve opened up about the 'miracle they didn’t think would happen on their special day…

The couple have been opening up about their nuptials for a new exhibit called 'A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex' exhibit at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland, where the pair’s wedding outfits will be displayed.

According to PEOPLE magazine, Meghan opened up about the little things they did to make their big day feel intimate, despite being watched by millions of people all over the world.

The Duchess of Sussex said: ‘A great level of detail went into the planning of our wedding day. We knew how large the scale of the event would be, so in making choices that were really personal and meaningful, it could make the whole experience feel intimate.’

Harry also explained why he decided to wear the uniform of the Household Cavalry (the Blues and Royals), which was actually the reason why Prince George was seen wearing trousers in public for the first time.

He said: ‘I chose the frock coat as a uniform, with permission from my grandmother, because I think it's one of the smartest Household Cavalry uniforms. It's one of my favourites, and I was very fortunate to be able to wear that on the day.’

Both George and Charlotte had a special role at the wedding, as pageboy and bridesmaid.

To make it even more memorable for them, the couple personalised their outfits – while George had his initials embroidered in gold thread on the epaulettes of the miniature version of Harry’s uniform, Princess Charlotte has her initials and the date of the wedding embroidered on the soles of her Aquazurra shoes.

Both were Harry’s idea, says Meghan: ‘Such a beautiful keepsake for them.’

The pair’s bridal party were all small children, and the Sussexes knew how risky that was.

Harry said: ‘We had 10 bridesmaids and page boys under the age of 7, which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it!’

‘It was a miracle!’, Meghan added.
