Meghan Markle secretly welcomed royal baby in London hospital
Meghan Markle welcomed her first child with Prince Harry yesterday, and her birth plan turned out to be quite different to what was thought.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became proud parents to a baby boy yesterday in the early hours, and announced the exciting news to the world in the afternoon.
The announcement read: ‘We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
‘The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
‘More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.’
But while there was much speculation that the Duchess was going to opt for a home birth in their new home in Windsor, the Daily Mail reports that Meghan secretly travelled to a London hospital on Sunday, with Harry and a security team by her side.
As she was one week overdue, Meghan could have been induced which is not possible to do at home.

Despite the reports, Buckingham Palace have not confirmed or denied the claims and said that details of the birth are ‘private’.
However, the location is likely to be confirmed once the couple register their baby.
After announcing the news to the world, a giddy Prince came out and spoke to press, saying: ‘I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.
‘It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
‘How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.
‘We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.’
Congratulations to the new parents!
