Prince William reveals how Kate has tried to overcome her acute morning sickness symptoms

The couple have tried natural remedies, but struggled to find one that really works

Prince William has revealed the natural remedy that Kate has tried in order to overcome her severe morning sickness.

Kate, who suffered the same debilitating condition when pregnant with both Prince George and Princess Charlotte, has been struck with hyperemesis gravidarum again, leaving her unable to leave the house.

However, it seems that the Duchess of Cambridge's condition may be slightly improving, as William revealed yesterday that Kate was 'feeling better'.

The Duke of Cambridge was in London yesterday at a Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund reception. William is a Patron of the charity which provides financial support to children of officers who have died in service or after service.

After an award ceremony, Prince William was spotted chatting to 98 year old Iris Orrell, who was cared for by the charity from 1926-1933 when it first existed as an orphanage.

Iris enquired as to how Kate was feeling to which William replied: 'She's been feeling better, thank you' before Iris revealed that she too had suffered severe morning sickness symptoms when pregnant with her three sons.

Suggesting that Kate may have found her hyperemesis gravidarum at its worst this time around William asked Iris, 'Did it get worse with each one?'

They then went on to discuss different natural remedies for morning sickness, with Prince William revealing that Kate has tried dry biscuits and ginger as ways to help combat nausea.

'Ginger biscuits,' he said, adding: 'But there's not much ginger can do to stop that. We've done all that.'

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they were expecting their third child together last month, after Kate's acute morning sickness once again forced the couple to reveal their happy news earlier than planned.

Kate's condition has meant that she was unable to take George to school on his first day as desired, and she has also been forced to pull out of all of her official engagements and work commitments.

Earlier this month, Prince William revealed that he and Kate have been going through an 'anxious time' with her third pregnancy so far as a result of the condition.

'There's not much sleep going on at the moment,' he confessed at the time.

Despite taking a break from public life while she attempts to overcome the side effects of the early days of her pregnancy, Kate is expected to join Prince William and Prince Harry at a reception for World Mental Health Day at Buckingham Palace on 10 October. The event will be Kate's first public appearance since the news of her pregnancy was announced.
