We look at pictures of Kate Middleton over the years - from her childhood to becoming a princess...

Well this is a first for Kate!

During a visit to Wimbledon in July 2016, Serena Williams posted an adorable video of herself and Kate on Snapchat, exclaiming 'I'm with royalty!' Whilst the Duchess looks a little confused at the concept at first, she soon gets the hang of it, sharing a big smile for the camera.

Both William and Kate are known to be avid tennis fans, but Kate also revealed to former British number one Greg Rusedski that George is already following in their footsteps, and has taken up the sport at the age of just 2.

'She talked about George, her little boy, playing tennis,' Greg said. 'He's got a racket and he enjoys playing tennis, and obviously she plays with William, so they obviously enjoy the sport very much.'

Life has changed a lot for Kate Middleton over the last few years. The once normal girl has been transformed into a princess (well, Duchess) and become the nation's sweetheart.

Kate was just a normal university student when she met Prince William and her life turned upside down. She has weathered a very public break-up, a royal wedding and and gave us an adorable Prince and Princess. One thing's for sure, Kate's emerged as an elegant young woman the public love!

And to think it all started with this adventurous 3-year-old little girl!

Kate and Wills are regulars at Wimbledon, with both of them being big sporting fans in general.

According to a source, the Duchess hired a 'discreet' personal trainer during her pregnancy to get her back to her pre-baby fitness. Although we reckon those Middleton women have got pretty good genes when it comes to their slender physiques!

Even duchesses have to go out in the rain, you know! Handy then, that they have one of those faithful servants to follow them around with an umbrella, why don't we have one of those?

Kate's latest outing was a little drizzly, but the mum-of-two didn't let that dampen her spirits. Attending the America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth with her husband, Kate and Wills watched as Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie's take to the water was beaten back by the stormy weather. The couple looked relaxed and comfortable in their matching sporting tops, which had 'The Duke of Cambridge' and 'The Duchess of Cambridge' emblazoned on the back.

Little Freddie Wilson and his mum Wendy Maxwell chatted to Kate as she made her way down the lines of well-wishers. When Kate asked how old Freddie was he replied, 'I'm three.' Wendy told reporters that when she told Kate, 'He is only 2,' Kate replied, 'George says that. He thinks that he's older.'

Speaking to a sleepy little boy in the crowd, also named George, she asked him if he liked Peppa Pig, and added that she hoped Charlotte would be doing lots of sleeping like him, too!

Kate and Wills were pictured out and about at the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony in Twickenham this weekend, and the Duchess was all smiles in a vibrant bright blue coat from high street favourite Reiss.

The pair, who welcomed their second child Charlotte at the beginning of May, were spotted laughing and clapping as they supported Prince Harry, who gave a speech to the 82,000-strong crowd at the event.

'This evening marks the beginning of a celebration of rugby that I hope will inspire current players and new generation,' he said. 'There will be moments that will live with us for rest of our lives.'

'To all the players, we wish you well for the tournament. Your individual skill is to be celebrated and I can think of no other sport in which the success of the team is shouldered so equally by everyone.'The appearance was one of Kate's first appearances since her maternity leave ended. Doesn't being a mum-of-two suit her?

We love this comparison picture which shows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both on and off-duty all in one day.

The royal couple spent their morning on an official visit to Harrow College in London where they met young people who are overcoming mental health problems and now volunteering in an anti-stigma campaign to help others in similar situations.

Kate and William have both long been supporters of charities that help young people with mental health problems such as depression.

Later in the day however, they were able to indulge in a spot of sport when they attended the Australia v Wales Rugby World Cup match at Twickenham Stadium, where Kate was seen really getting into the spirit of the game!

Kate, seen here raising a toast with guest of honour Chinese President Xi Jinping, looked ravishing in red at her first state banquet in October 2015.

The Duchess attended the white-tie occasion, which was hosted by the Queen and Prince Phillip at Buckingham Palace, in a full length, scarlet Jenny Packham gown with capped sleeves.

She accessorised with drop diamond earrings, a diamond bracelet, and the intricate 'Papyrus' tiara, also known as the Lotus Flower; an item of jewellery once owned by the Queen Mother. This was only Kate's third time wearing a diamond tiara - the first was at her wedding in 2011, where she wore the Cartier 'Halo' design, and the second was at a reception for diplomats in 2013.

Kate and William were both seated at the top table at the event, but notably not together - she was seated in the most prominent position for a female member of the royal family after the Queen, and looked every inch her important part!

William and Kate at Imperial College London: October 2015

Just hours after attending her first state banquet, Kate looked elegant and fresh-faced as she greeted Chinese president Xi Jinping and his wife on the second day of their state visit to Britain.

Wearing a plum lace dress by Dolce and Gabanna, the 33 year old waited with her husband on the steps of Imperial College London to attend a cultural event at the university with the president and his wife.

In a change from the previous evening's updo, she wore her hair in long curls, styled with her new statement fringe, which she had cut in in September. William, meanwhile, co-ordinated with her dress with a matching purple tie.

The couple have been entertaining president Jinping and his family during their visit, which experts hope will secure £30 billion of trade deals, including huge investments in infrastructure projects. No pressure, then, Kate!

Kate Middleton at Shaun The Sheep BAFTA Premiere: 26 October 2015

With two small children in the house we should have guessed that Kate would be a big fan of Shaun The Sheep!

The Duchess attended the BAFTA film premiere with her husband and her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, on Monday morning.

Whilst they were at the BAFTA event, they also took part in a traditional British farming game of 'welly-wanging' but sadly for Kate her shot fell well short of the target! Luckily, sportsman Harry made up for her performance.

As always Kate was a huge hit with the children at the event.

Kate Middleton Islington Town Hall: 27 October

Kate Middleton Islington Town Hall; 27 October

We are beginning to wonder if Kate will get a moment to put her feet up?

With two children at home and an increasingly busy social schedule, Kate has continued her hectic week of royal engagements, which included a state banquet with the Chinese president, a trip to Dundee and the Shaun The Sheep premiere, with a visit to Islington Town Hall.

There she met with the charity Chance UK who work with children aged 5-11 that are at risk of developing anti-social behaviour or moving into a life of crime. By providing the youngsters with a weekly mentoring session with an adult volunteer, Chance UK hopes to turn their prospects around.

After a late night at the James Bond Spectre premiere, Kate and Wills were back on thier charity circuit to meet children and parents involved in the program.

The Duchess was wearing a dress from designer Orla Kiely.

Kate's visit to Action on Addiction came after a morning spent on the trading floor at the ICAP charity fundraiser.

Whilst William was keen to get his wife to stop embarrassing him by 'flirting' with other brokers it seems Kate's persusasive techniques paid off when she closed a lucrative deal.

Kensington Palace shared the moment Kate as so overcome with joy that she decided to break into dance with the other traders...oh Kate, will you be our best friend?
