Mum says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is 'unfair' for Kate

'I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.'

A mum has sparked controversy by hitting out at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding, saying it's 'unfair' for Harry's pregnant sister-in-law Kate.

Writing on a parenting forum, the mum said she thought the decision to have a spring wedding is not fair for Prince William's wife, who's due to give birth in April.

She wrote in a Mumsnet thread: 'It's been on my mind that a spring wedding is one way to make sure all eyes are on you and not Catherine. As depending on the date chosen she'll either be extremely heavily pregnant or possibly postpartum, she's never really rushed to the celeb demands of having your pre-pregnancy body in 4 weeks.

'If she has HG that lasts till term she really won't enjoy the day, I remember one heavily pregnant Mum when I got married going home in the end to rest she was struggling that much.'

Kate is currently expecting her third child

The mum continues to say Harry and Meghan's decision create a dilemma for William and Kate, who will both want to enjoy the special the day but will either be worried about their newborn.

In her post, the woman suggests that a summer wedding would be a better option Kate and William, as it would grant them the 'luxury' of not having to worry and be 'knackered'.

'I understand given Meghan's age it's now or never, I just feel it's a bit harsh on Catherine, as in any scenario she'll not overly get to celebrate the day. She's always been close to Harry, so I assume she'd want to take part and have a time similar to her wedding, partying till the small hours,' she wrote.

'A summer wedding would give Catherine & William the luxury of not worrying if baby will arrive imminently, or that Catherine will be postpartum, knackered and really not feel like a part of the day.

'I know it's Harry & Meghan's big day, but as I've said he's always been close to his brother and SIL. I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.'

Harry and Meghan will tie the knot in May

Not many other shared the woman's concern for Kate, who said that she would surely have help from staff who will take care of the baby.

One commented on the thread: 'Of all the pregnant women at all the weddings in all the world, I'm pretty sure she has very little to worry about. She'll have so much help on tap in terms of full time nannies on hand to run around after her other children, teams of people ensuring her comfort and making her travel arrangements easy and painless.'

Another said: 'My sister got married 3 days before my due date with my second child. I was very obviously heavily pregnant at the wedding. I had a great time! Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can't chat to people, enjoy the day, eat lovely food, wish the bride and groom well. OK, so I had to sit out the ceilidh dancing but so what.'

Prince Harry and Meghan announced they are engaged earlier this week and Kensington Palace revealed the pair will tie the knot in May.

An exact day is yet to be announced, and as Kate is due anytime in April, an early May wedding could potentially mean she would have given birth not long before.
