Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announce date for Prince Louis' Christening
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially announced the date for Prince Louis' Christening.
The official statement was made via the Kensington Palace Twitter account, where they announced the ceremony will happen on 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London.
They also revealed that Prince Louis will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, who also did it for George and Charlotte.
The statement read: 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London. Prince Louis will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.'
The announcement comes days after speculation that his Christening would happen between of June and first weeks of July.
Just like his brother and sister, Prince Louis will be christened not long after being born. Princess Charlotte was christened under two months after she was born - in July 2015 - and Prince George had his ceremony three months after.
This will be the first time we see a glimpse of Prince Louis since the Cambridges shared a picture of him and Princess Charlotte on her birthday

The little royal, who was born on St George's Day in April, will be baptised at the same place as his big brother Prince George.
This marks a return to the London location, as the couple picked St Mary Magdalene church, on the Queen's estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, for the christening of Princess Charlotte back in 2015.
If his siblings' ceremonies are anything to go by, Prince Louis' christening will be a private affair. Prince George's christening back in 2013 only had 22 guests, with only senior royals, four members of the Middleton family, the seven godparents and their spouses among the guests.
It's not yet known who Prince Louis' godparents will be, but punters seem to believe soon-to-be former private secretary Miguel Head and his childhood nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke are favourites in the running.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told the Express: 'As with George and Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis.'
