Sam Faiers thought breastfeeding would stop her from falling pregnant
The former TOWIE star has spoken candidly about learning she was going to become a mum for the second time
Sam Faiers has revealed that her second child Rosie wasn't planned.
The 'Mummy Diaries' star revealed she was under the impression that she wouldn't be able to fall pregnant again while she was still breastfeeding her son Paul, so discovering she was then pregnant with Rosie was a bit of a shock!
'I honestly didn't think you could, it is [breastfeeding] a natural form of contraception - they say,' Sam told OK!
'But at that point of feeding Baby Paul, it was really for comfort, I don't think I had a lot of milk - it was more just for comfort.'
Sam went on to admit that she was surprised to learn that she was going to become a mother again so soon.
'So yeah, obviously I fell pregnant and I was completely surprised.'

'They already wanted to commission a new series with us and then obviously it was perfect timing,' Sam continued.
'We all knew, but they didn't know - literally. When they confirmed the series I said: 'By the way, I'm pregnant'.'
Her declaration obviously delighted those working on her show.
She added: 'They thought I was, but in their head they were like: 'Yes, another birth on The Mummy Diaries!''

As a result, some women view breastfeeding as a natural contraception, and this is known as the lactational amenorrhoea method.
The NHS states that a woman should, however, use another form of contraception if: their child is above the age of six months, they're fed anything other than breast milk such as solid foods, or the mum has started menstruating again.
Sam and her longterm partner Paul Knightley welcomed Rosie into the world in November last year. Rosie's older brother Paul was born in December 2015.
