Aldi launches five new hot cross bun flavours for this Easter
Spring is one of the best times of year.
The weather is getting brighter and warmer, the summer calendar is filling up and there are Easter treats everywhere.
But while everyone is in a frenzy over the Easter egg aisles full of Crème eggs, Mini eggs and of course our favourite avocado Easter treats, there’s one Easter goody that we’ve almost forgotten about – the hot cross bun.
And the supermarkets are sure giving us a treat this year when it comes to these celebratory buns.
First high-end food store Marks & Spencer brought back their sell-out salted caramel hot cross buns, and now everyone’s favourite money-saving shop is launching a new range of hot cross buns that will have us snacking on these bakes all year long.
Budget supermarket Aldi is putting a twist on the Easter with their new range of flavours – and there’s a choice for every day of the week.
The high-street retailer is launching five new hot cross bun flavours for everyone to enjoy this spring season. And you’re going to want to try each and every one.

First in the line up is their brand new Specially Selected Rhubarb & Custard Hot Cross Buns, which captures the classic British sweet flavours in its taste. Aldi suggest topping it with poached rhubard, cream and crushed pistachios for a real treat.
Or if you’re a berry fan go for the store’s Specially Selected Blueberry Hot Cross Buns or their new Specially Selected Very Berry Hot Cross Buns, which are packed with red fruits, lingonberries and cranberries. Both of these fruity offerings are available already in stores across the country for only 99p for a packet of four.
Or if you’re feeling indulgent, their Specially Selected Salted Caramel & Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns will hit that sweet spot and satisfy all of those Easter choccy cravings.
For a warming afternoon treat, opt for Aldi’s Village Bakery Apple & Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns, which are filled with spices and come in at only 85p for a packet of six!
You can get these as well as the Rhubard & Custard and the Salted Caramel & Belgian Chocolate in stores from Thursday 7th March, with the latter two coming in at £1.09 for a packet of four.
Or if you prefer to stick with more traditional flavours, Aldi has also brought back their Specially Selected Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns and fan-favourite Specially Selected Brioche Hot Cross Buns, which are both 99p for a four pack and available in stores now.
Hmm which one for Monday then…
