The Great British Bake Off has been keeping us entertained on Tuesday nights for the past nine weeks, but sadly comes to an end next week.
During last night’s show we said goodbye to Briony Williams, which means heading into the final is Rahul Mandal, Ruby Bhogal and Kim-Joy.
Over the course of this year’s baking contest we’ve seen the first ever vegan-themed week and a Danish week, along with classics like bread, biscuits and patisserie.
Channel 4 have not released details of the final theme, but the bakers must surely have been in shock when they learned that the final would be filmed outside of the famous tent for the very first time.
Yes, for the first time in the Bake Off’s eight years of running, the contestants will be baking outside!
And, according to a source that spoke to the Mirror, for the final technical challenge, Rahul, Ruby and Kim-Joy did not have access to any of their usual baking equipment.
The source explained: ‘You won’t need ovens or hobs for this challenge. It should be simple, but not everything goes to plan.’
Speaking ahead of the final on last night’s episode judge Paul Hollywood promised the show could result in the best final ever – if the bakers really give it their all, of course…
He said: ‘It’s going to be a fantastic final next week. We have got three great bakers and each one of them has this very artistic flair. If they bring their A-game, that is going to be the best final ever – I promise you.’
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the final three with one person writing: ‘So glad that @kimjoyskitchen is in the final, go kill it girl with all the animals 🎉 but @brionymaybakes 😭 the final won’t be the same without you, you should be so proud of everything you’ve achieved; I’m in awe of you! #GBBO’.
Another said: ‘I hope Ruby wins #bakeoff #gbb 🙌🏻’.
