Alison Hammond has been unveiled as the new Weight Watchers ambassador after admitting she is ‘so embarrassed’ by her current weight of over 20 stone.

The This Morning’s presenter is set to embark on a new healthy lifestyle after admitting she weighs more than 20 stone.

She said: ‘My WW journey is focused on getting healthier for myself. I feel rubbish when I don’t eat properly or exercise and WW helps me with what I eat and do.

‘I know I’ll also lose weight by following the WW programme, but that’s not the be-all and end-all for me.’

Speaking about her decision to join the programme, she says: “I want my journey to empower others to think about making changes to their lifestyle to become the best version of themselves.”

‘WW is the only programme that works for me, with the Online WW Coach there for support whenever you need it, 24 hours a day.’

Alison Hammond opened up about her busy schedule and says life as a single mum has made it difficult to keep on top of her weight.

‘It’s been 17 years since I began working in TV, and I’m busier than ever, especially juggling my duties as a mum.’

Alison has previously spoken about her weight back 2016, after joining the second series of ITV’s Sugar Free Farm taking on the challenge to drop all sugar and refined carbohydrates from her diet for 15 days.

That same year she managed to shed 10lbs off her body weight at an intense boot camp.

Speaking to Planet radio, the presenter admitted: ‘‘I’d love to weigh 12 stone, that’s the ideal weight for my height, I’m 5ft 9in, but if I was 15 stone and around a size 14 to 16 I’d be over the moon.’

She added: ‘‘I’d love to weigh 12 stone, that’s the ideal weight for my height, I’m 5ft 9in, but if I was 15 stone and around a size 14 to 16 I’d be over the moon.’

After much speculation, the presented previously revealed that she had a gastric band operation in 2006, but her body rejected it.
