Most of us look forward to our birthday.

Not necessarily the getting older part, but it’s generally a fun-filled day and possibly the only one of the year where you get to call all of the shots.

But most people are aware of the general consensus that some times of the year are better than others for celebrating your birthday.

Summer babies get to throw heatwave barbeques that all their friends are up for, while anyone born in December has to put up with joint presents, jam-packed schedules and their winter wardrobe.

And you can forget celebrating if you’re a January baby. A month of no alcohol and trying to follow a vegan diet? Sounds like a fun night out…

Well now a poll has officially stated what the best and worst days of the year are for celebrating your birthday.

And some of you might not be happy about it…

Now while you may have imagined that the best time of year to have your birthday would be sometime in scorching July or August, the research, which was conducted by Dr. Oetker and looked at 2,000 adults, suggested the best day in the entire year to have your birthday is actually 15th June.

Surprised? Well, it’s because while June babies are still blessed with sunny skies and hot temperatures, they haven’t quite hit peak holiday season yet, so chances are that more of their friends and family will be less booked up and will be able to celebrate with them.

And the worst day of the year?

Unsurprisingly it’s Christmas Day. Because on Christmas Day nobody cares about anything other than Christmas.

However, while you might have expected it to be followed by something like Blue Monday (or definitely a day during Dry January because who wants a teetotal birthday?) the runner-up was actually 29th February.

Yeah, one birthday every four years isn’t our bag. Sorry leaplings!
