While Co-op’s £5 frozen meal deal is well known among bargain hunters, here’s everything you need to know if you’re late to the party.

The deal costs £5 and will get you five items designed to feed a family of four dinner and dessert.

This week the Co-op offer includes a bag of southern fried chicken strips, two Dr Oetker pizzas, a 750g pack of lightly spiced potato wedges, and for your something sweet, a 480ml tub of Cadbury Double Decker ice cream – which only went on sale in the supermarket last month.

If you were buying the five items separately it would cost around £11.45 so the deal saves you a whopping £6.45!

The pizzas and wedges make great freezer staples and they are perfect if you’re in need of a quick mid-week dinner. The items are also great if you’re hosting a birthday party for your little one and want to put on a cheap party food spread.
