- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opened up about parenting baby Archie on the second day of the royal tour.
- Baby Archie has broken records following his arrival in South Africa with parents.
- In other royal news, on the family’s arrival in Cape Town, Meghan Markle paid tribute to Prince Harry and Princess Diana with a sweet detail in baby Archie’s outfit.
The new parents have shared their experiences parenting five-month old Archie while attending a mindfulness session with surfers from Waves for Change at Monwabisi Beach, Cape Town today.
Harry described Meghan as ‘the best mum’, and the Duchess of Sussex returned the favourable sentiment declaring Harry to be 'the best dad’.
The couple spoke with surf coaches and mentors from local townships who support children struggling with mental health issues through sport.
The Royal couple took part in a ‘power hand’ meditation activity designed to build confidence, strength and resilience. The activities also included dancing, finger clicking and clapping with the children and coaches.
According to Ash Heese, training manager for Waves for Change group, one of the mentors suggested to Meghan that her strength was dancing.
Ash Heese said: ‘She laughed and said no she doesn’t think so but parenting is a new strength that her and Harry are learning and developing.

‘She said he’s the best dad and he said she’s the best mum.’
Both Harry and Meghan also took part in a welcome ceremony involving a ‘Hey Joe’ game overlooking the sandy beach.
Ash described the couples’ involvement in the ceremony as ‘very engaging’.
She continued: ‘They were keen to engage with the coaches on their level, no sense of talking down or being patronising towards them. They seemed genuinely interested in our coaches and our coaches are the heart of our programme.
‘It’s wonderful to have positive mental health champions here.
‘It helps showcase our work and showcase positive mental health development. The amount of awareness that they can bring to this amazing.’
Upon the Royal couples arrival at Waves for Change, which is located in old shipping containers, they were met by founder of the surfing group Tim Conibear.
The pair also met with staff from the Lunchbox Fund who provide children in South Africa with meals at school and Waves for Change.
The Lunchbox Fund was one of the the four charities chosen by the new parents to benefit from the donations given to the family upon the arrival of Archie Harrison in May.
We hope to see more of the Sussex families' charity work on their royal tour and of course get a glimpse of the little one out and about sometime soon!
