EastEnders' Patsy Palmer revealed her real name recently, leaving This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby shocked.
The actress returned to the UK from her home in Malibu to film with the BBC soap, and reprise her role as Bianca Jackson.
The star was pressed on her comeback, but hasn’t given away much about the upcoming storyline. Fans are going to have to be patient to find out what Bianca is up to back in the square.
When asked about living in Malibu where ‘she wouldn’t be recognised’, Patsy replied ‘No, they don’t know me. I have another name, my name is Julie really. So I thought I’m going to get back to calling myself my real name.’
She added that even she gets confused with having two names, saying ‘But I actually get so confused myself that sometimes I’ll say Patsy, sometimes I say Julie and it’s like I confuse myself. So now in Malibu they call me Patsy Julie.’
Phillip and Holly were shocked by this, admitting they had no idea that Patsy wasn’t the actress’ real name, and that she was actually called Julie Ann Harris.
‘That was my name, my name is Julie Merkell, my married name.’ The actress corrected Phillip, who responded with ‘How many names have you got?’
‘I’ve got so many names and then Bianca, so I really need to be over there with him meditating because I’m on a mission to find out who I really am’ The actress joked, gesturing to a monk who would be guesting on the programme later.
She continued ‘Sometimes I’m ginger, sometimes I’m a mum and then I’m the wife. I’m everything.’
‘Who am I? Tell me, Phil. I’ve come back to ask you who I am. I need to go on Who Do You Think You Are?’
Phillip responded ‘You’ll always be Bianca to us’, echoing the thoughts of many UK fans around the world.
