  • Rio Ferdinand has gushed about Kate Wright in a very sweet birthday post, and fans are praising him for it…

The former footballer and the ex-TOWIE star have been engaged since November, and seems like their relationship is going from strength to strength.

To mark Kate’s special day, Rio shared a series of adorable loved-up snaps of him and his better half – including one where Rio is asleep on Kate’s shoulder.

Alongside the sweet snaps, he wrote: ‘Wishing my ❤️ the happiest birthday. Inside and out, the most beautiful person I could wish to spend the rest of my life with 😘’.

Fans were quick to praise the dad-of-three for the sweet post, with one saying: ‘Nicely worded. With great respect to your past and your future. You’re a gent, Rio.’

Another wrote: ‘Aww lovely words and pics @rioferdy5 and what a beautiful lady @xkatiewright is so pleased to see she’s brought you and your children so much happiness after all your heartaches you’ve been through. Wish you all the very best for the future together and hope you have a lovely birthday Katie you deserve it 🎂🎈❤️ xx’

A third also added: ‘couple goals 😍 makes me happy knowing how happy they are 😭❤️’.

Kate also shared a birthday post with her own fans, where she was snapped with a gorgeous birthday cake and plenty of birthday cards.

She wrote under the pic: ‘Birthday girl 🤗💖 lovely morning with my special little family so happy 💗’.

Kate and Rio – whose wife sadly past away in 2015 – have been together since 2017.

The former reality TV star moved in to Rio’s family home with his three children later that year, and became engaged in November the following year.

Speaking about becoming a stepmother, Kate told Daily Mail: ‘It is challenging but it’s just as amazing.

‘It was always going to be a hard job, it was never going to be easy but I love it and I couldn’t imagine life without the three children.’
