Princess Eugenie shares this strict parenting rule with another royal (and it's not who you'd expect)
The princess appears to have picked up parenting tips from the Duchess of Sussex
Princess Eugenie shares a strict parenting rule with Meghan Markle that she admits she uses on son August.
The royal is a mum of two, to sons August ('Augie'), two, and four-month-old baby Ernest ('Ernie') with husband Jack Brooksbank. And while she keeps most of her family life private, she has shared some rare details of motherhood on a new podcast.
Speaking on Kate Thornton's White Wine Question Time podcast, Princess Eugenie has revealed a surprising parenting rule that she shares with her cousin-in-law the Duchess of Sussex.
"My kids are so wonderful. Augie is a two and a half-year-old firecracker and just listens to me, I don't know why. And Ernie smiles the whole time so they're really easy and wonderful boys."
But while many new mums suffer from a lack of sleep, Princess Eugenie is winning at parenting - and you might be envious if you're wondering how to get your child to sleep.
"If there was a tournament in the Olympics of sleeping, I think I would win it. I could sleep for Great Britain as a national sport and so I think my boys have gained that talent, and they are deep, deep sleepers. I hate to say this to all mums listening but they are really good sleepers."
But when it comes to her parenting style, Princess Eugenie admits she is firm when she needs to be, "Manners maketh man' – I'm trying to do that with my kids right now."

'Manners maketh man' is a proverb that broadly means that your mannerisms and characteristics make you who you are, that is to say people are judged by their manners and conduct.
Some basic manners include saying 'please' and 'thank you', saying 'sorry', asking permission first, covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing, respecting elders and being kind and compassionate.
And manners is something Meghan Markle previously revealed she had drilled into her son Archie, four, during a tell-all interview with The Cut.
"We always tell him: 'Manners make the man. Manners, manners, manners, manners, manners."
And if you're wondering why they share the same parenting values, well, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie have a close bond, and she flew out to LA to spend time with the Sussexes and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back in February 2022.
