Royal fans were left ‘horrified’ after a picture of a figurine of Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte was shared on social media.

Twitter user Amelia Perrin spotted the – er – interesting find in TK Maxx and decided to share it on Twitter.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: ‘Sometimes TK Maxx out-TK Maxxes itself. £60. arguably the worst thing I’ve ever laid eyes upon.’

The figurine, which features Kate, George and Charlotte, left other users less than impressed because it looks nothing like them.

One said: ‘Why does Charlotte look like a 70 year old complete with make up?? It’s like they were looking at a picture of Pat Butcher instead of the royal daughter??!’

Another commented: ‘Well that’ll haunt my dreams’; with another user tweeting: ‘Ew !!!! It’s so ugly’.

Others even joked that the work of art comes with its own curse.

‘A ceramic figurine so horrifying you know that it comes with its own inbuilt curse’, one wrote.

Another said: ‘We bought the Royal Doulton Young Royals figurine in the sale at TK Maxx, and then the killings began’

While the item is discounted at TK Maxx, on sale for £60, it’s listed on the Royal Doulton website for £235.

Its description reads: ‘Crafted in exquisite fine bone china, Royal Doulton figures are beautifully handmade and hand-decorated by skilled ceramic artists.

‘The fun-loving spirit and happy personalities of the royal family is portrayed in the figure, Young Royals.

‘Sculptor Neil Welch has created this limited edition of 1000, inspired by a photograph of HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, playing in the garden with her children, their Royal Highnesses Prince George of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.’

The figurine was made to look like the Cambridges’ 2015 Christmas card, but dad William – who was also in the original picture - was left out.
