Princess Charlotte's name at school revealed ahead of her first day

Princess Charlotte

On Thursday (5th September), Princess Charlotte will be starting her first day of school. She’s attending South West London school Thomas’s Battersea, where older brother Prince George is currently enrolled.

But whilst her official title is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, she’ll be using her parents’ titles as her surname at school.

So she’ll be known as Charlotte Cambridge amongst teachers and fellow pupils. It’s believed that that’s already how Prince George is known too.

Prince William and Prince Harry did the same thing in school, using Prince Charles’ title Wales as their surname. They continued using it during their military careers too.

Reportedly, Princess Charlotte will be taught a varied curriculum throughout her time at Thomas’s Battersea. She’ll be learning French, Computing, Art, Music, Drama and Ballet, alongside Literacy and Mathematics.

Recently, Prince George was mocked for taking ballet lessons by American TV host Lara Spencer. She has since apologised for her comments.

Thomas’s Battersea’s aim reads as follows: ‘It is our aim that each child in our care aspires to fulfil his or her potential. We would like every pupil to become the best that he or she can be.

‘In each school, we aim to offer the highest academic standards, set within a broad and rich curriculum, which inspires enjoyment, learning and achievement. We expect every member of the schools’ communities to ‘Be Kind’.’

We hope Princess Charlotte enjoys her first day at school!
