  • These delicate heart table cloth weights are guaranteed to make outdoor dining easy this summer!

As the British summer isn’t always as sunny or as calm as we’d like we often find ourselves trying to host a barbecue while our table cloth does its best to wriggle free from the table, with a little help from its friend the wind.

You can prevent this thanks to these gorgeous little sewn-heart weights. Ticking all our boxes, not only do these little chaps look great, they’ll also save a lot of tiresome tugging down of table cloths this year.

Filled with a simple mixture of sand and sewn on a machine they really don’t take long at all, and will add a pretty edge to any table. In fact, they’re so sweet that we also think they make perfect gifts for an outdoor-loving friend.

If you’re thinking of starting to sell your crafts these would be a great first project. Taking not much time and money you could make a few up initially and see how you go. You’ll be surprised at how impressed people will be with your crafting skills and we’re sure you’ll be a sell out success if you pop these on your stall!

    Step 1

Cut out two hearts from your fabric. Lay them right sides together. Pin and sew around the outside edge, leaving a 3-4cm gap at the top. Make small cuts from the outer edge up to the stitching line to prevent the fabric puckering when turned through. Make a second heart and turn both through to the right way.

    Step 2

Cut a length of ribbon and stitch one end to one heart, and then the other end to the second heart. Sew buttons onto each heart (see photo above).

    Step 3

Fill the hearts with sand and hand-stitch closed. Tie onto the corners of your tablecloth.
