Top tips for buying an espresso machine on Black Friday and Cyber Monday
There are a few things to consider before buying an espresso machine and a few questions we'd recommend asking yourself before purchasing.
What is your budget? If you're on a tight budget you might benefit from looking at older espresso coffee makers and models. A lot of brands release new model after new models and actually the old models are just as efficient and effective in making a barista-style cup of coffee as the new models - it might just take a little longer or it might not feature as many functions are the most recently launched one.
How often do you plan on using your machine? If its an all-day, every-day kind of affair then you may want to opt for a more expensive model. As with most kitchen appliances, you pay for quality and durability and if you plan on using the machine over and over again you may need to look at higher-quality, longer-lasting machines.
How big is the machine? If the espresso coffee maker that you're set on is large, you'll need to consider whether it will fit on your kitchen countertop or not. If there's no room to display it in the kitchen, you may have to consider storing it in an easily accessible cupboard. Again, making sure you've got enough room and you're aware of the measurements of the overall machine before purchasing is a good shout.
What do you want your espresso machine to feature? If you're looking for a machine with a built-in milk frother then make sure that box is ticked before adding to your basket. If you're looking for one that is easy to clean with dishwasher-safe parts or one that has customising options, make sure you've read everything you need to know about the machine before committing.
Is an espresso machine right for you? And of course, the all-important question of is this type of coffee machine right for you. Before you choose to buy an espresso maker, have a look at other types of coffee machines out there too like pod coffee machines, and bean-to-cup to see if they are more suited to your coffee wants and needs.
